The North Carolina Society of Historians have named Leanna Sain’s, Gate to Nowhere, the 2012 winner of their Clark Cox Historical Fiction Award.

Read the judges’ comments: “This book has everything: a fabulous historical background, a mystery that needed to be solved; a genealogy that needed to be searched; questions needing to be answered; good and bad relationships; provided the reader with many ups and downs on that proverbial roller coaster; romance; love; an intelligent, easy-to-read text; memorable, realistic characters; vivid but not too wordy setting descriptions; and, well, our leist could go on for ages.

It is too late to be brief so we will leave you with four little words: we love this book!

Would we buy it? Yes! Would we encourage others to buy it? Yes! And, we will definitely be on the lookout for Book 2. Leanna, please hurry! The suspense is overwhelming!”
