Gate to Nowhere wins Foreword Magazine BOTY award!!

June 2009 - Gate to Nowhere, first novel of local author, Leanna Sain has won ForeWord magazine’s Book-of-the-Year award in general fiction.

ForeWord is distributed primarily to librarians and booksellers to familiarize them with upcoming books from small, independent and university presses which don’t receive the media attention that books published by large houses do. The average issue of ForeWord reaches an audience of 20,000 readers.

“My publisher, Twilight Times, entered it (Gate to Nowhere) into this contest. I didn’t even know about it until after she’d done it,” Sain recalls. “I never thought I had a chance to actually win… especially with my very first book!”

The sequel, Return to Nowhere is due to be released this August. Sain has just sent the third book of the series to her publisher and is working on her fourth novel. She owns Barewood Furniture and Heartland Amish Furniture with her husband, Randy. She lives on a small farm in southern Henderson County.
